Essa non sostituisce, per\u00f2, la mammografia o l\u2019ecografia. Alcuni centri senologici offrono appositi corsi di autopalpazione.<br \/>La <strong>mammografia<\/strong> \u00e8 il metodo attualmente pi\u00f9 efficace per la diagnosi precoce. Si tratta di un esame eseguito con un\u2019apparecchiatura radiologica \u2013 il mammografo \u2013 che, utilizzando raggi X, consente di individuare eventuali alterazioni del tessuto. <br \/>La mammografia costituisce una metodica efficace per riconoscere il tumore al seno, poich\u00e9 tramite le immagini radiografiche \u00e8 possibile individuare noduli di ridotte dimensioni, spesso non palpabili. I timori di un\u2019esposizione eccessiva alla radiazione sono ingiustificati, poich\u00e9 con i moderni mammografi in dotazione ai centri senologici i dosaggi sono molto ridotti.<br \/>La donna non dovrebbe rinviare o rifiutare la mammografia per paura delle radiazioni. Non sottoporsi all\u2019esame mammografico esporrebbe invece al pericolo ben maggiore di non riconoscere un tumore alla mammella in fase iniziale.<\/p><p><strong>In Alto Adige le donne tra i 50 e 69 anni vengono chiamate ogni due anni a sottoporsi a un esame mammografico gratuito (programma di screening mammografico della Provincia di Bolzano). mamazone consiglia la mammografia a scopo di diagnosi precoce a partire dai 40 anni.<\/strong><\/p><p>Nelle donne giovani e con seno denso \u00e8 consigliata, oltre alla mammografia, anche <strong>un\u2019ecografia<\/strong>.<\/p><p>Con la <strong>risonanza magnetica<\/strong> \u00e8 possibile individuare forme iniziali di tumore del seno e lesioni precancerose.
